A dream come true..

As many of you know, if you're my friend on facebook.. I just recently traveled to New York. It's always been my dream to visit New York City, so when my dad got an offer to go there as a work trip, he immediately thought of me. Driving to New York was definitely not one of my favorite road trips ever (I had to compare it to driving 24 hours to Deytona, FLorida), but I knew that once it was over with, my dreams would come true (as cheesy as that sounds that's what got me through the drive).

My first full day in NY consisted of getting up at 6 am and driving to the city, that day was also my 19th birthday which made it even more special. We took the subway from 39th to 59th street to walk around Central Park. After apporximately 500 pictures of skylines and rocks, we decided to make our way back to the subway station. After sitting on the train for about 30 minutes, we realized we missed our stop.. so there we were, in the middle of New York City.. lost and confused. We asked around for directions and then rucksacked accross the Brooklyn Bridge which is about a mile long and absolutely gorgeous.

After about 45 minutes of power walking through the city, we finally made it (with lots of obstacles and mislead directions) to Battery Park, where we got on a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. After numerous steps and pictures, we made our way back to the hotel and graciously threw ourselves into the bed.

As the week progressed, we drove to a mall in Hicksville, went to Coney Island in Brooklyn, walked around Times Square for literally 30 minutes because that alone cost me 10 dollars in parking, went to SOHO and bought cute little cupcakes from Baked by Melissa, and tanned at the beach for a good hour.

As I had forseen, this trip became one for the books.
