Dear Best Friend,
Exactly 20 years ago you set foot on this world for the very first time. Just a little baby in a big world without any worries or concerns. Little did you know that of all the people you would meet, one of them would be me. Your best friend. I'm writting you to remind you that no matter how many thousands or hundreds of miles we are apart, you will always have a special place in my heart.
So here it goes.
I'd like to start off by thanking you for this awesome journey you and I have had together. We've gone through so many things and no matter if we were stuck together in Gerogia, or separeted by an ocean, distance was never a reason for us to not be friends. No matter how far apart from each other we were, we always made a promise to stick together.. through the good times and the bad. You're the peanut to my jelly and I don't know if the person I am today would exist without you. I guess I should thank your mom and dad for not only creating one of the most imperfectly perfect girls, but for giving me a best friend. But.. then again.. you're not just a best friend, you're a sister. Someone who I will never be able to live without. Someone who always makes sure that no matter how long it's been since we last spoke, to love me for who I am and for any decision I make in life.
I'm so thankful that I was able to spend the past 8 years with you by my side. Thank you for showing me what true friendship is all about. I hope today was nothing shy of perfect and that one day, we will be able to celebrate the past 5 birthday we haven't spent together. I'm so excited for the many years we have ahead of us and all the memories we still have to make. I'm extremely proud of the woman you are becoming, make all your dreams come true no matter how hard some days might be.
I'd like to share two of my favorite birthdays with you.
May 16th 2009. The day you turned 13. I remember going to some Arcade in Columbus, Georgia and sitting in a room with people from school, celebrating your birthday. We bacame friends in March of 2009 so our friendship was still in the awkward stage. We sat at a table in this decorated party room, ate cake, and one by one everyone handed you their gifts. When it was my turn to gift, I handed you a very large envelope and proably some bag of other goodies.. You opened the envelope and it was a card, that sang "Who let the dogs out!? who? who? who? who?" Years after that, we still played the card only to remind us of the great times we had together.
June 15th 2010, my 15th birthday. This is one of my most favorite days in the world, the day I turned 15 and the day you flew to Germany from Georgia after we hadn't seen eachother for almost 2 years. The day we ate cupcakes, handed them out durng unch and cought up on all of the things we missed about each others lifes in the past 2 years.
Thank you for everything you do and the huge impact you have on my life.
Happy Birthday, I love you.
xoxo Raechel
